Awakening Change®

You may know something needs to change, but knowing and doing are two different things. Before you can successfully create change, you must first connect to why it matters - for yourself, your team, or your organization. Ultimately change is an individual choice, and organizational change is about a lot of individual choices.

Awakening change® starts with a conversation. Change happens through connection, which reveals “the why”. Through conversation, motivations and core beliefs emerge, allowing both individual and organizational needs to surface. The path to awakening change is based on three core components: being human, being courageous and being patient. What and how you do these three is up to you – your state of being is unique as an individual, a team member, or as a leader of transformational change. I help my clients move through these areas to create the type of change that results in real, positive impact.

Read more about awakening change in the paper I wrote as my model for leading change during my graduate studies at Pepperdine.

Awakening change is 100% what you make of it. I can’t do your work for you. But I can help you do the work to help yourself. Only you know you. Only your employees know your business and your clients. No consultant or coach can gain the level of expertise you already have. But I can help you tap into that knowledge and create the change you need to move forward.

Awakening change can happen in a variety of ways, each uniquely powerful and designed to help you meet your specific goals.

No matter which way we partner together, a level of motivation and commitment is required.

  • Motivation to change – to be different, to be better than you are today

  • Courage – to be open, transparent and authentically you, to try new things

  • Commitment to the journey – change takes time and it won’t happen overnight, but it can happen on any given day you choose to try something different

  • Willingness to reflect – to see perspectives beyond your own

  • Effort to do the work – prioritize our work as critical and important, because if it is not, neither of us should be investing time in it

  • A focus on progress, not perfection – Five frogs sit on a log. Four decide to jump. How many remain on the log? Five. Deciding isn’t doing.

In return, my commitment to you is to:

  • Listen, with only your agenda in mind, not mine or someone else’s

  • Ask questions that encourage you to think or explore things in a different or deeper way

  • Support and challenge you, offering feedback that is both honest and kind to help you see yourself or your organization as others see you

  • Share knowledge, experience and resources not to give you answers to questions, but to help you discover your own answers

  • Create environments and ways to have conversations which otherwise might not occur

  • Be passionately engaged without being attached to the outcome – you own the outcome, I help with the process

We are collaborators, conspirators, partners, adventurers in your success. Together we help you:

  • Move from where you are to where you want to be

  • Achieve more than you thought or believed possible

  • Let go of things that no longer serve you

  • Chart progress and measure success

  • Become a better you, impacting those in your organization and life the way you want to

The future is not a result of choices among alternate paths offered by the present, but a place that is created – created first in the mind and will, created next in activity.
